Once again, the Easter fair proved very popular with a great number of visitors! There was quite a large number of stalls selling a wide variety of products. It was also an opportunity for affiliated groups to advertise themselves and raise funds.

VISIT TO GUINGAMP PRISON WITH INSEAC STUDENTS

A guided tour, in English, of the Guingamp prison was organised on Monday 25th March 2024 by the INSEAC students (National Institue for Artistic & Cultural Education). About 15 AIKB members attended and they were shown around in pairs by 2 students. This was the opportunity to get a full understanding of the place and its history.

Nowadays, the prison also welcomes an art gallery, which is currently holding a photographic exhibition called "Will Write Soon", which gathers photos and postcards used and sent by American farmers from the 1900s to the 1920s.

The INSEAC students are organising another guided tour in English on April 8th at La Roche Jagu gardens. There are still places available if you would like to participate. Please contact: info@aikb.fr

BALM"WORKSHOP
"PAIN RELIEF BALM"

On March 17th, 10 AIKB members gathered around Camille GUEVEL for a workshop on how to create a pain-relief balm.

For those who do not know Camille, she produces and transforms aromatic and medicinal plants in Mael-Carhaix. She creates herbal tea, spices, mustard and balms.

She offered to organiSe two workshops for AIKB members, at the end of which each participant left with their own "hand-made" balm.

Other workshops are planned but for the time being, should you wish to buy products from Camille, she will have a stall at the AIKB Easter Fair on April 1st in Gouarec.

As part of a programme of meetings and photography trips, the Photoclub recently held a workshop on portraiture. AIKB WALKING GROUP
25 SEPTEMBER
ETANG DU CORONG, GLOMEL

This first walk was a great success. 'A perfect afternoon' seemed to be the unanimous feedback! It is great that all participants enjoyed our first outing so well.

The next walk is planned for Tuesday October 24th, full details to follow nearer the date; let's hope the weather is equally kind to us!

The central theme of our group is intended to be 'variety' i.e something for everyone; so walks may be long or short, easy strolls or more for exercise, in the countryside or around towns, on different days of the week - and perhaps including some 'social time' at a local hostelry afterwards, before or even during the walk? Together we can explore new locations – and with different leaders...

Everyone has a favourite walk so please enjoy sharing it with us! Please email to me with your ideas, suggestions and feedback – all will be welcome – you'll find me at tony.pendleton@gmail.com

Right now suggestions for walks in the coming 'cooler' months will be especially welcome, especially if they offer that option to include a bit of 'social time' somewhere warm and welcoming!

PONT AVEN 15 SEPTEMBER

The exhibition, a mixture of paintings and photography, will be in situ until November 5th and is well worth a visit!
