Thursday 15th April - Club Meeting

This is our usual Club meeting in Gouarec . It is intended to split the meeting into 3 sections. Firstly we will be reviewing our photos of the recent visit to Quimper. The next section will be a discussion on how to approach the forthcoming Competition of which the subject will be 'Hands & Feet', giving tips and guidance.
Finally, Gary Hacon will be giving a talk on Light & Composition.

Jeudi 15 avril - Réunion du Club

Il s'agit de notre rencontre habituelle à Gouarec. La réunion se décompose en 3 phases. La première sera l'étude des photos de notre récente sortie à Quimper. Ensuite, une discussion aura lieu sur la Competition à venir dont le sujet est <les Mains et Pieds> en donnant des indications et attentes. Finalement Gary Hacon fera une conférence sur la lumière et la Composition.

AIKB - Expo

The AIKB have invited the Club to produce an Exhibition of member's photos, which will be shown initially in Ploerdut before moving to Gouarec. The dates of the Exhibition will be between 3rd May to 14th June, with a vernisage on the 6th June at Gouarec
There is NO set theme.
Bryon has asked that every member submits a panel of at least 4 photos. This would make a good show and a true representation of the Club's standard.

Expostion AIKB

AIKB a invité le Club de réaliser une exposition de photos d'abord à Ploërdut et puis à Gouarec. Les dates seront entre le 3 mai et le 14 juin. Il n'y a pas de thématique. Bryon Mason a suggéré que chaque membre soumette un choix d'au moins 4 photos. Ceci permettra de réaliser une belle exposition et tout en montrant le bon niveai du club.

Thursday 6th May - Internal Competition

This is the 2nd Internal Competition of this year, of which the theme is 'HANDS & FEET'. It is up to the members to interpret this subject in their own style, which we are sure will prove very interesting, with some surprising results. Normal rules for internal competitions apply. Namely you can submit up to 2 - A4 prints in either colour or mono, which must be registered before the start of the meeting.

Jeudi 6 mai – concours interne

Le thème du  2ème concours cette année est « Les mains et les pieds ».  Les membres sont libres d’interpréter le sujet comme ils le souhaitent.  C’est la  garantie d’une offre créative avec quelques surprises.   Les règles habituelles de concours interne s’appliquent, c'est-à-dire que

Thursday 20th May – Club Meeting

The Club held it’s first AGM, where the Chairman – Bryon Mason outlined the past year’s activities in stating that the Club had improved it’s level of awareness within the community, aided by Exhibitions, Competitions and in association with AIKB produced a successful yearly Calendar.
In addition he thought the standard of photography had improved throughout the Club and hoped this trend would continue and attract additional members

He continued by summarizing his recent survey on the sources available to project member’s images to their best advantage, to which the Club were hoping to purchase. It was agreed the best specification within our budget was a Projector. After discussions with AIKB it was agreed we would proceed with the purchase.

The final point of discussion was centered around pending activities for this year, whereby the Club would promote its awareness and continue to become self supporting.

News Flash

The Club are delighted to introduce its first Honorary Member – George Bear.
We are not exactly sure of George’s origins or pedigree; however he has very quickly imposed himself as a ‘Bear’ model.
Over the coming year each member will endeavor to photograph George as he goes about his daily tasks. To date Joan, Brian, Jenny, Pat & Jon have all succeeded in capturing the ‘moment’. Watch this site for regular updates as the year progresses!

Le Club est heureux de présenter George Bear, son premier membre honoraire.

Nous ne sommes pas sur de connaître ses origines ni son pedigree mais très rapidement Georges est devenu notre modèle.  Au cours de l’année, chaque membre va aller prendre George en photo dans sa vie quotidienne.  A ce jour Joan, Brian, Jenny et John l’ont saisi avec ses amis lors de différents moments conviviaux.   A découvrir à la prochaine mise à jour de notre page web!

Thursday 3rd June – Photo Critique Session

Subject – REFLECTIONS
It is hoped all members will participate by presenting 2 images (prints or digitally produced using a disc or memory stick), that represent their interpretation of the subject – REFLECTIONS.
Open dialogue will follow to discuss each photo on the techniques which were used in the production of the image, and to encourage alternative views.
