CALLING ALL PHOTOGRAPHERS / Appel à tous les photographes !

The AIKB's photo club was set up as a direct result of the huge success of their Photographic Competition held in 2008.

The club meets every 1st & 3rd Thursday of the month, (with a closure during August) from 4.00pm - 6.00pm at the AIKB Office in Gouarec. All members of the AIKB are welcome to join. Each meeting usually has a theme for presentation and discussion of member’s pictures or particular subjects within the huge scope of photography. The membership currently includes enthusiastic amateurs covering all levels of photography. All of whom are happy to share knowledge and experience with each other.

In addition we have several exhibitions and excursions planned as well as our regular internal competitions on a variety of themes, to keep the interest and sometimes stretch the knowledge of our members. The range of equipment used is also very broad , from simple compact cameras right through to SLRs in both digital and film format. The message of the club is very simple it's about taking and enjoying photographs!

Le Club de Photo d’AIKB a été créé à l’issue du fabuleux succès de la Compétition réalisée en 2008.

Le Club se réunit chaque premier et troisième jeudi du mois (avec une pause en Juillet et Août) de 16h à 18h au Gallerie Tremel in Gouarec. Tous les membres sont les bienvenus et l’adhésion est gratuite. A chaque rencontre, un thème est abordé. Une présentation et une discussion sur les photos réalisées ou thèmes abordés ont lieu  entre les membres mais que sous le prisme photographique. Parmi nos membres nous avons des professionnels et des amateurs qui sont heureux de partager leurs connaissances réciproques.

Des expositions sont prévues au cours de l’année ainsi que des excursions. Des compétitions internes ont lieu également sur des thèmes divers et variés afin de susciter constamment l’intérêt de nos membres.L’équipement utilisé est très large, allant du simple appareil photographique au plus perfectionné aussi bien numérique, qu’argentique. Le message du club est très simple : Prendre Plaisir à Photographier !

Bryon Mason - I am the current Chairman of the AIKB Photo Club, and have been since it was formed in 2008. I am delighted with the way the club has progressed and especially in the standard and quality of the work that the members produce. The synergy created by the membership has created a warm and friendly environment where everyone can, and does, make a postive contribution. I am proud to be its Chairman and I am very pleased with the way my own work has improved in striving to meet the interesting and sometimes difficult challenges that the club presents.

John Hanson is Secretary of the Photo Club and was instrumental in its creation. He enjoys his photography and this enjoyment has been increased by learning from more experienced members, plus being challenged to attempt work that he would not have tried previously. He welcomes the easy learning style and the Club's good humour. He is a volunteer to the AIKB and was for a long time Secretary to the Board. He is very active in a wide variety of interests locally in Brittany.

Le Secrétaire du Club Photo, est un membre actif d'AIKB depuis quatres années. Son principal rôle au sein de l'association est d'être secrétaire lors des réunions du Comité d'Administration mais aussi de s'engager dans l'organisation des tâches et évènements divers. Il a aidé à la création du club photo  pour développer ses propres compétences et donner une opportunité aux autres de  les améliorer. Pepper, sa chienne est toujours volontaire pour être son modèle avec comme paiement des biscuits.

Gary Hacon - Recently accepted the position of Treasurer to the Club. As well as helping to promote the Club and it's activities, he is an accomplished photographer with many years experience, including 12 years being a qualified PAGB (Photographic Alliance of Great Britain) judge. His favourite subjects being landscapes & graphics.
His other interests include aeromodelling, archery and music.
