Thursday 18th February - Internal Competition No.1 - 2010
The Club held it's first Internal Competition of the year, with the subject being 'Triptic'. This we learnt from the previous meeting meant presenting 1 piece of card/paper with 3 seperate photos being mounted within the larger sheet. All 3 photos must relate to the same theme.
It was amazing how our members rose to the occasion, presenting 11 high quality entries, covering a wide and varied range of themes. This gave Gary Hacon who was our competition Judge for the day, an unenviable task of choosing the winners. First place went to Peter Jones and third place to Jon Stokes, plus well done to Gary for a very informative and constructive afternoon.
Jeudi 18 Fevrier : 1er concours interne
Le sujet du premier concours interne cette année est un « triptyque ». Nous avons déjà étudié le sujet lors d’une réunion – il s’agit d’un support sur lequel 3 différentes photos sont assemblées, les photos ne doivent pas couvrir la totalité du support et doivent traiter le même sujet. Avec onze entrées nos membres ont réussi un travail de qualité couvrant des thèmes très diverses. A cette occasion c’était Gary Hacon qui était juge avec la tâche difficile de départager les gagnants. La première place fut attribuée à Peter Jones et le troisième à Jon Stokes. Nos remerciements à Gary pour un après-midi constructive.
Thursday 1st April - Club Outing
This saw the Club visiting Quimper for the day on it's first external visit of the season. Fourteen of us started the day outside the Cathedral, and after a brief coffee break Bryon introduced us to a new innovation of drawing lots on various subjects, associated with the City, to photograph whilst exploring the City ie: Doorways & Signs etc.
We individually set about our tasks of viewing and photographing before meeting up for lunch, where we put the World to rights. After which we continued our respective tours taking in the City attractions and capturing the events on camera. Finally finishing around 6pm after a very enjoyable day!
Jeudi 1 Avril : Sortie du club.
Lors de la première sortie de l’année le Club a passé la journée à Quimper. 4 membres se sont retrouvés devant la Cathédrale, après une pause café, Bryon a initié une nouvelle façon de tirage au sort pour attribuer des sujets différents à réaliser lors de la journée tels que les portes ou les enseignes etc. Nous sommes partis chacun de notre côté explorer la ville avant de se rencontrer pour déjeuner où nous avons discuté de tout. Nous avons poursuivi nos tâches l’après-midi en immortalisant nos découvertes jusqu’à 18 heures. Une journée très agréable.
External International Photographic Competition & Expo
This is the official notice of the above Competition, followed by an Exhibition of all entries.
The Club have been asked by the AIKB to host this annual event, which will be open to the public as well as Club members to participate. It will take place on the 17th September, at the Pavillon de Rhohan, Gouarec.
The set theme for this year is - WATER, so let your imagination 'run wild'!
To obtain an Entry Form plus a copy of the Rules of the competition please email either Bryon Mason (bryonmason@hotmail.co.uk), or you can collect a copy of this information from the AIKB's main reception
All entries must be received by the 2nd September.
URGENT NOTICE: Due to an administrive problem, the date of receiving entries has now been extended to 13th September.
Septembre 16 - Concours Externe
Information sur le prochain Concours ouvert à tous.
Des propos concernant l’organisation du concours qui sera suivi d’une exposition de toutes les photos soumises. AIKB a demandé au Club Photo d’organiser cette manifestation annuelle, ouvert à tous, membres ou pas de l’association. Il sera organisé vers le 17 septembre au Pavillon de Rohan à Gouarec. Le thème sera – l’EAU ….laissez votre imagination courir ! Plus de détails seront mis sur ce site prochainement et dans notre bureau à Gouarec (22).
Thurday 20th May - Intenal Competition No.2 - 2010
The second Internal Competition took place, with the subject being 'HANDS & FEET'. This tested the skills of our members, which covered a wide spectrum of human, animals and furniture being the models for the subject.
It was exceptionally interesting, on the basis that our new members had entered their first competition, with intriguing results of the theme.
The results were - 1st Bryon Mason; 2nd Bob Packer; 3rd Barry Tutton
